Introduction This five-day course is intended to provide an overview of results-based monitoring and evaluation methods with practical applications of tools and methods. This course will provide participants with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) skills, tools, techniques and resources needed for planning, organizing, and/or managing programs and projects. Through relevant case studies, exercises and group work, participants will learn the links between results-based measurement, monitoring and program evaluation. Enough Time will be allotted for guided practical exercises and informal question and answer sessions around common M&E problem areas. Resourceful information and proper guidance for further study in research and M&E field will be provided. Participants will have an improved understanding of how M&E can improve the quality of their projects while promoting learning and accountability Participants will also learn how to be better managers and consumers of evaluations conducted by others For whom the course is intended Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation is intended for Managers, Monitoring and Evaluation officers who need to supervise, manage, plan and implement M&E in their projects and programs. Also individuals, who are responsible for project or program-level M&E, will benefit from the latest M&E thinking and practice. Course Outcomes At the end of the course, participants should be able to: Understand the importance of M&E in Policy, Programs/Projects and how it can be applied in real world Use M&E techniques for managing M&E responsibilities at their institutions and make use of the results Understand the importance of careful M&E designs, planning, and executing the M&E functions for results reporting Use the findings of baselines, monitoring, midterm evaluations and use these findings to fully understand the outcomes of the Policy, Programs/Projects when conducting a final evaluation Comfortably apply acquired skills independently on their monitoring and evaluation datasets using appropriate techniques to communicate program results to seniors and stakeholders Fee information: The course fee is 750,000/= per person (break tea, lunch and course materials and Certificate of attendance will be provided).
