Qualifications Bachelor‘s Degree in Social Sciences. A Master’s degree in Gender Equality or related field from a recognised University would be an added advantage. Experience and related attributes • 5 years experience working in an international agency or across countries • Excellent strategic and analytical skills • Excellent writing and communication skills • Excellent problem-solving skills and resourcefulness • Energetic, enthusiastic and interested in learning within a political, changing and diverse work environment • Strong record on donor reporting and accounting • Strong media and communication skills Duties and Responsibilities: • Advises the dioceses / Head of Caritas on appropriate strategies and steps for addressing gender inequalities in their development and disaster management; • Develops a gender mainstreaming programme to support dioceses in mainstreaming gender in their activities and ensures the programme is delivered according to plan; • Monitors the promotion of gender equity and equality in the society and advises accordingly; • Develops programmes to address youth and children issues according to the needs of the dioceses; • Develops capacity building programmes for the dioceses according to the needs of the dioceses; • Advices the Head of Caritas Department on matters related to gender, youth and children; • Prepares plans, budgets and reports related to the section; • Supports dioceses in developing and reviewing development projects/programs; • Facilitates sharing of experiences among dioceses through organizing fora and exposure programmes; • Supports dioceses in capacity building in promoting gender equity and equality; • Promotes and advocates for gender equity and equality as well as children rights at National, Regional and International level; • Links the dioceses with potential donors and other stakeholders; • Oversees the work carried out by Caritas Msimbazi and reports to the Head of Department and other executives of Caritas Tanzania; • Represents Caritas Tanzania in forum on gender and children issues whenever required; • Supports dioceses in mobilizing resources for Gender and children related programmes.
