The Policy Advocacy and M&E Coordinator is responsible for analyzing information, data, monitoring government policy changes including fiscal year budget guidelines and document issues arising thereof for appropriate action including policy advocacy. He/she is also responsible for ensuring quality in health care according to national standards and Catholic Church teachings using appropriate tools and maintaining a register of health facilities with all basic data. Further, he/she is responsible for attending health related meetings, improving communication, and organizing Annual Meetings for Diocesan Health Secretaries, Hospital Management Teams and Principals of Catholic Health Training Institutions. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 1. First degree in Medicine from an accredited medical school, or Social Sciences or equivalent 2. Must be registered with professional bodies 3. Three (3) years’ experience in health/community development work (experience in HIV and AIDS field will be an added advantage) 4. Understanding of financial management and general administration 5. Be computer literate 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 7. Be highly motivated individual and a self starter who can work with minimum supervision DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. To report to the Director of Health and HIV/AIDS Program 2. To facilitate collaboration of Catholic health services with the Government and other stakeholders involved in the provision of health services in the country. 3. To coordinate the provision of health services of all dioceses with Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC), government and other stakeholders. 4. To carry out advocacy and lobbying services on behalf of Catholic health care facilities to provide them adequate assistance they require in the form of resources and training from the government and counterparts. 5. To ensure that health care activities in all dioceses are carried out following the ethics of the Catholic Church. 6. To promote, facilitate and coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of HIV and AIDS program activities in line with government and TEC polices and guidelines. 7. To prepare the integrated plan and budget for HIV and AIDS interventions. 8. To provide technical support and capacity building on HIV and AIDS programming to implementing districts. 9. To mobilize stakeholder participation in HIV and AIDS programs in all implementing districts. 10. To monitor and evaluate programs in line with the National M and E system. 11. To develop and maintain a Database on HIV and AIDS programs. 12. To mobilize resources for HIV and AIDS programs. 13. To document and disseminate Best Practices. 14. To compile and submit periodic plans and reports on HIV and AIDS programs to the Program Director and relevant stakeholders. 15. To perform all other assignment pertaining to health department as may be assigned from time to time.
