Assistant Debt Recovery Manager

Job title: Assistant Debt Recovery Manager Location: Dar es Salaam Reporting to: Debt Recovery Manager Client: Banking Role Purpose Manage debt recovery for an assigned portfolio of non-performing loans against set targets, implementing restructures, rehabilitation programs, realization of collateral held where necessary, settlement negotiations and loan write-offs in liaison with the other staff in the Debt recovery unit, legal department, finance department and external agencies. Responsibilities & duties ? Manage assigned non-performing loans portfolio to ensure credit and other risks are properly mitigated and loan recoveries maximized and exceed set targets. ? Review and assess Non-performing loans and negotiate with the customers with a view of arriving at workable restructures of settlements to avoid costly asset disposal and minimize debt recovery loss. ? Originate quality CQ memos for loan restructures clearly evidencing loan repayment capability and monitor restructured loans until they are successfully upgraded to performing category and reverted to business for daily management. ? Manage end to end process of Asset Disposal where this is seen as the only alternative. Liaise with legal where court process is involved to ensure successful completion and attend public auctions to ensure bank interest is protected. ? Provide professional business support to resolve challenges faced by stressed clients. ? Initiate loan write-off and abandonment in accordance with BOT regulations and provide recommendation for Board approval. Academic qualifications Essential ? Degree in Economics, Accounting, Law and Finance ?
