-The program officer is responsible for the coordination and administrative support to MEWATA’s activities
-Actively participate to ensure implementation of activities in line with the MEWATA’s strategic plan as well as Government of Tanzania policies.
-Manage programme planning, monitoring and reporting according to the requirement by organization and or Donor requirement
-Provide technical support in proposal development and finalization of quality concept notes as well as maintaining a bank of high quality proposals for funding.
-Involved in development of programmes reporting systems and tools.
-In consultation with ED, develop contracts, budgets and scopes of work for the any consultancy activities including maintenance of a database of suitable consultants.
-Coordinate projects review, implementation, reports and evaluations conducted by consultants.
-With support of the accountant and Honorary Treasurer ensure proper management of organization approved budget and funds with quarterly reporting to the Executive committee meetings.
-Involved in development and implementation of research and advocacy priorities addressing health systems challenges of the country.
-Advocate and represent MEWATA at levels on matters of health development in Tanzania as delegated by the ED, President and Executive Committee.
-Participate in networks with relevant MEWATA partners and stakeholders to increase MEWATA’s visibility, coordination of activities and promotion of shared advocacy agenda.
-Account to the Executive Committee on the delivery of strategic programme objectives and regular reporting on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
-Lead in the development and growth of MEWATA programme portfolio in collaboration with the ED and Executive Committee, program team and other secretariat staff in the office
-Work with the technical team and research and publication committee of MEWATA in conducting identified areas for operational research and take leadership in developing manuscripts for publication.
-Spearhead documenting and communicating lessons learned for the program model and for disseminating knowledge and best practices.
-Support the secretariat in adhering to operational regulations and the set standards for program management and financial procedures.
-Promote teamwork and encourage project teams and partners in owning the programs and ensure facilitate well the quality services provision during community mass screenings and other community activities.
-Accountable to the ED and Executive Secretary as well as the whole of Executive Committee on the delivery of strategic programme objectives and regular reporting on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
-Supervision other staff of the secretariat including volunteers and interns
