Job Role: Management Position Type: Full Time Organization Type: Private Sector Location: Other Dar es Salaam District Dar Es Salaam Description Industry: Advertising Minimum Qualification: Unspecified Minimum Experience: 5 years As a Media Director, you will be responsible for a team of media buyers and digital media managers. Key deliverables for this position include strategic product output, quality of work, from media and digital strategy and implementation on a portfolio of brands. Although the main purpose of the job is management, strategic product, client relationship and staffing are also key. At its core the purpose of the role is to: 1) Be an ambassador for the company, connecting across internal and external networks to help deliver the operating model and build the brand reputations. 2) Redefine the way our clients consider media 3) Drive the group digital agenda 4) Lead the implementation of Business Strategy and DAN talent to deliver innovative, brilliant solutions that deliver business value to client 5) Own, drive and deliver the business’ financial targets - grow agency profitably through winning new business and maximising income from existing clients 6) Lead and inspire others to deliver excellence across core and diversified services across a significant client portfolio 7) Drive a high-level of media strategy Brief Job Description: 1) Developing media and digital strategy using all of the principles stipulated in our planning tool 2) Build strong media supplier relationships and be up to date with global and local trends 3) Campaign management assistance where necessary (from strategy through to planning and finance) 4) Team management – ensure that everyone is working at their optimum level to deliver the highest standard of work - efficiently, from strategy through to finance and assist where necessary. Conduct PB’s with Group MD 5) Be at the forefront of media / channel / digital innovations 6) Gain a holistic view of the client business problems (global and local), understand how digital is transforming their business and identify or create new opportunities for using digital to drive business growth 7) Have a thorough understanding of all digital touch points and be able to design an overarching digital strategy based on user experience and client business objectives 8) Own the digital strategy (overarching or campaign) and manage the specialist resources from the DAN Network brands and client agency partners to deliver capabilities 9) Lead through motivation, inspiration and knowledge 10) Report management – deliver and manage all reporting requirements by Aegis and clients 11) Commercial client management – manage the client’s budget decision making process & draft fee proposals and manage PRIPs 12) Commercial agency management – drive profitability and cross selling opportunities 13) Drive DAN agency values and behaviours 14) Forecasting – deliver accurate forecasts for DAN Trading 15) Drive the DAN Trading agenda and track performance 16) Accurate filing and record keeping of campaign information Personal Specification: Working within an entrepreneurial culture where change is a regular practice, other capabilities required, include: 1) Positive “can-do” attitude and managing ambiguity 2) An ability to think innovatively and creatively 3) Team player who can work effectively at all levels of the organization 4) Strong communication and change management skills 5) Demonstrated knowledge of media strategies and administration 6) Demonstrated organisation skills leading to the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Requirements: The suitable candidate should possess the following experience and skills: 1) Miminum 5-years experience in the media/marketing industry as a Media Director, Senior Media Planner/Buyer or Media Strategist 2) Excellent knowledge and understanding of the media landscape in Tanzania with an understanding of digital media platforms being an advantage 3) High-level understanding of media strategy 4) Existing relationships with media owners essential 5) Ability to review, amend and present TTL media schedules/plans 6) Strong negotiator 7) Ability to present to senior level clients 8) Previous experience in the financial industry would be an advantage If you believe you are fit the profile of the above-mentioned position and would like to join the fastest growing media network in Africa, we look forward to hearing from you.
