Company Industry: Media & Entertainment Job Level: Senior level Work Type: Full Time Highest Qualification: Bachelor Years of Experience: 5 years Location: Other Dar es Salaam District Dar Es Salaam Description Reports to: Editor Entry Qualifications: -Holder of BA in Mass Communication, Journalism or its equivalent from a recognized Institution. -Must have at least five (5) years relevant work experience. -S/he must have computer skills. -S/he must be fluent in English/Swahili. Main Duties and Responsibilities: -Writes stories, features and commentaries for newspaper and online sites; -Makes follow up on stories; -Investigates events for the purpose of obtaining exclusive stories; -Checks facts of stories by junior writers to ensure they meet the standard; Mentors junior writers; -Researches for additional background information for stories, features and commentaries; -Keeps abreast with current affairs, events, news and knowledge -Develops individual objectives/targets and performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the Head of Section; -Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Section.
