Company Industry: Human Resources Job Level: Management level Work Type: Full Time Minimum Qualification: Bachelor Years of Experience: 3 years Location : Other Arusha District Arusha DESCRIPTION: Our Client, a 5* Lodge, requires the services of a qualified all-round professional, Security, OH&S Security Manager to look after all aspects of security, health & safety, business continuity and quality at their reputable lodge operating in Karatu. Purpose of the Role: To ensure compliance and governance to local legislation and Global Company standards across the different disciplines. To identify potential risks and to mitigate against such risks and to report timeously of all risks and health and safety issues. Key accountabilities: v Manage the security of the site v Investigate all matters of risk and health & safety with the key aim of providing solutions v Ensure compliance with all statutory matters v Training of all operational staff on security and health & safety issues v Meet the Companies performance targets v Implement continuous improvement activities for OSHA standards v Manage the Lodge business continuity plan v Manage the sites Health & Safety Plan v Manage the sites quality Programme v Project management for the site in adherence to the OH&S standards v Management of the site’s infrastructure Leadership: v Lead, establish and exemplify the desired culture throughout the Unit, that supports the Department Vision, Mission and Values, as well as the Cultural Commitments v Establish, demonstrate and hold others accountable to the commitments of the Department, Lodge, Section and Unit v Engage and support staff in developing action plans to enhance communication, solve problems creatively, promote integration and support excellence v Ensure staff are empowered, have the competencies, and are well equipped to perform their roles v Provide technical support and mentorship to Safety Engagement Leads and Safety administrators v Monitor staff engagement and implement action plans as necessary v Develop and implement staff performance, development and management plans v Manage staff issues and disciplinary actions and processes with consultation with the management. Operational Accountabilities: v Act as a change agent and leader in continuous improvement with the management on OH&S managed system v Oversee and/or perform hazard assessments and workplace inspections v Conduct and lead safety audits to establish an understanding of baseline performance and develop strategies to support continuous improvement v Lead and/or develop and deliver health and safety training modules to help build a sustainable safety culture v Conduct trend analyses, monitor and report on Lodge performance and develop improvement strategies based on performance trends v Collaborate with management, supervisors and foreman to implement Security, OH&S program elements Required Qualifications**:** A degree from a recognized High learning institution in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline with coursework in industrial health and safety, environment including 6 years of experience as an OHS professional that would include managing an OHS management system from both a technical and strategic perspective, safety auditing, occupational hygiene, contractor management, project management, hazard control, incident management, operational OHS KPI reporting with a minimum 3 years in a senior supervisory/leadership role that involves managing OHS professionals and large diverse teams.
