The Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) was established under the Public Corporations Act No. 17 of 1969 by a Presidential Order through Government Notice number 115, published on 25th August, 1978. The Centre is wholly owned by the Government of United Republic of Tanzania and operates under the purview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation. The AICC was established to manage and control the Headquarters’ complex of the defunct East African Community in Arusha which belonged to the defunct East African Community. It also owns Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre as per Arusha International Conference Centre (Amendment) Order of 2014, dated 19th March, 2014; and provide facilities and services on the complex for purposes of conferences, meetings, seminars etc. The Centre invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill in the below mentioned vacant post:- Duties and Responsibilities i. Assist in the provision of technical advice on procurement of MIS equipment, hardware and soft ware ii. Assist to prepare MIS regulations and guidelines iii. Assist in installation and maintaining a modern Management Information System. iv. Provide technical support in application of Information Technology. v. Finding the causes of ICT systems problems and make necessary restructuring. vi. Reporting and repairing ICT system problems. vii. Attending daily ICT system problems and keeping records of maintenance. viii. Recommending policies, standards and standard procedures for the controlling efficient use of ICT systems in the Centre. ix. Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and manpower plans for the Information Technology Unit. x. Maintaining records on the condition the ICT system performance in the Centre. xi. Ensuring that required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually reports regarding ICT activities are prepared on time xii. Researching and producing specifications xiii. Designing and writing new software programs; xiv. Testing new programs and fault finding; xv. Developing existing programs by analysing and identifying areas for modification; xvi. Integrating existing software products and getting incompatible platforms to work together; xvii. Creating technical specifications and test plans; xviii. Preparing training manuals for users xix. Maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects; xx. Investigating new technologies; xxi. Performing any other duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned by the Senior Information Technology Officer.
