Health & Safety Officer

Package Description: Remuneration and benefits will be commensurate with the seniority of the role and in compliance with company remuneration policy and practice. Job Introduction: The successful candidate will assist the Head of Human Resources on a day to day basis to implement the Health and Safety function. Role Responsibility: Implementing G4S Tanzania Health and Safety Management systems with aim of attaining OHSAS 18001 certification Ensuring compliance with National legal requirements, G4S Group requirements and best industry practice in regards to Health, Safety and Enviroment Guide G4S Tanzania Safety Commitees in line with Health and Safety Commitee Rules Conduct workplace inspections and recommending sound corrective actions so as to ensure continual improvement. Spearhead incident investigations and establish root causes as well as ensure corrective measures are put in place to avoid reccurence Facilitate Environment, Health and Safety capacity building within the organization Mainatain Environment, Health and Safety database and communicate relevant EHS statitsics Facilitate risk and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessments The Ideal Candidate: University Degree or Post graduate training in Health & Safety related discipline Three years experience as a Health & Safety Officer Strong communication and presentation skills Knowledge of HR policy, procedures, systems and best practices Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills desirable G4S offers a competitive market related salary.
