Logistics Supervisor

Job Description: • The Logistics Manager must be able to prepare, manage and monitor delivery schedules for local, national and international consignments • The Logistics Manager will be required to handle technical details relating to local or international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary administration and documentation requirements • The Logistics Manager will be required to efficiently evaluate the costs of transportation, services and inventory within any budget or distribution strategy. • The Logistics Manager must have knowledge of national and international import/export legislation and must be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation. • The Logistics Manager must also have and be expected to build relationships with Logistics mediators and work closely with package engineers to ensure the protection of freight in transportation. • The Logistics Manager, documentation and organization is important – any changes to operating procedures, prioritization or any problems must be documented and communicated accurately. Key skills and qualifications of a Logistics Manager: • The candidate must be educated to degree level and may also be required to hold any relevant qualifications and systems training associated with Logistics Management, as well as experience in the Logistics sector. • Must have extensive experience with the transportation of food locally and internationally. Knowledge of cold storage and transportation of frozen, chilled and dry container shipping • The candidates must have effective communication skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks all with an attention to fine detail. • Negotiation skills are important to success as a Logistics Manager since national and international communication is a pivotal part of the job. • The candidate must be numeric and be able to demonstrate an understanding of basic accountancy to successfully fulfill the role of Logistic Manager. • The candidate must able to use the Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel Education and Experience • Diploma / Degree in Logistic Management, or equivalent Key Competencies • Judgment skills • Communication skills • Presentation skills • Integrity • Adaptability Applications should be addressed to: hr@sfgroup.co.tz
