Fortnite for iOS gains customizable HUD, voice chat, Android version coming this summer

Today, in a blog post that details all the changes that have just been added to the iOS game, Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite is coming to Android “this summer.” The studio said that when they'll have more information to share about the release, they will make it public immediately.

As far as the iOS game goes, Fortnite gained quite a few new features and improvements such as customizable HUD and voice chat. The latter will allow iOS players to squad up in Fortnite so that they can work together towards that Victory Royale.

Among the improvements announced by Epic Games, the studio mentions enhancement to the Autorun and adding better ways to fire. As soon as the improvements will be added to the game, more options to the settings will be available to Fortnite players.

The folks at Epic Games said they are aware of the large installation size of Fortnite on iOS and are actively working to reduce the size. However, since the change can't be done in just one update, the developers will try to compress the size down while maintaining the performance over the next few updates.

Some game performance improvements are expected to be implemented as well, as Epic Games plan to fix the code to optimize the experience, as well as ad a Battery-Saver mode that's meant to increase the game's performance and lower the graphics quality.

Stats tracking for Fortnite mobile players will be enabled sometime this summer, as Epic Games are working to improve their stats servers to handle more players. Last but not least, the developers will continue to work on stability and fix crashes and other issues reported by players.
