NMB touts for digital payment systems

DAR ES SALAAM: NMB Bank has urged the public to embrace digital payment systems as an important strategy that will promote a cashless economy in the country.

The NMB Bank Chief Retail Banking Officer, Filbert Mponzi said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the digital payment systems used for paying various goods and services have proved to be more convenient, quick and secure.

“NMB has been promoting the use of digital payment systems through the three-month campaign seeking not only to promote a cashless economy across Tanzania, but also reward the bank’s customers,” he said.

After the campaign yesterday, NMB handed over 24 return air tickets to lucky winners to enjoy a fully paid five-day trip to Cape Town, South Africa as a grand prize to winners.

Earlier, the NMB Head of Card Business, Philbert Casimir urged the public to embrace digital payments because they have proved to be more convenient, quick and secure.
