Travel industry operators invited to attend ATA meeting in Uganda

Tanzania tour operators, travel agents, airlines and hoteliers have been invited to take part in the 39th Annual Tourism World Congress clated for Uganda where they chance to market their tourist products.

 

 

 

A statement by Africa Travel Association (ATA) that was made available to The Guardian at the weekend indicates that the event will take place at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala, from November 11 to 16, this year.

 

 

 

The ATA annual congress will feature a full-day Tourism Investment Forum where tourism business leaders, industry stakeholders, and investors will discuss the latest tourism development and financing trends and interface in business-to-business meetings.

 

 

 

Additionally, Uganda will showcase the country’s vast investment opportunities in culture, wildlife, hotel development and attracting Diaspora investment.

 

Delegates will also have the opportunity to book pre-and post-Congress excursions and tours to further enjoy the “Pearl of Africa.”

 

 

 

The statement said registration is now open for people and other tourism companies eager to participate at the said event.

 

 

 

Delegates can register for the five-day travel industry event on-line at ATA’s website, www.africatravelassociation.org/WorldCongress. Special early bird rates for ATA members are available until September 30, 2014 at USD400, the statement said.

 

 

 

It further indicates that after this date, ATA members can register for USD500, while the non-member registration fee is USD600.

 

 

 

“The event will be hosted by the Uganda Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities under the auspices of Minister Maria Mutagamba, with the theme “Tourism is Everyone’s Business,” it says.

 

 

 

Tourism ministries and boards, multilateral and regional institutions, global tourism organizations, tour operators and top-line agents, ground operators, airlines, and hoteliers from Africa and around the world are the main delegates who are invited to take part at the event.
