The Eyevis UK Managing Director Mr Steve Murphy flew out to Tanzania to oversee the project and is really pleased that the technology is benefitting the country. The company is creating two video walls, each made up of eight of its 70-inch LED rear projection displays, which will operate 24/7 to identify and prevent problems with electricity supply in the country.

He said: “An electricity generator and distributor like Tanesco requires reliability and equipment which is easy to service, so we are delighted that they have seen the benefits of Eyevis technology.

“Our video displays will be working 24/7 to ensure that the supply and distribution network runs smoothly and help keep the lights on for the people of Tanzania.”

One of the Eyevis UK video walls will be used to monitor Tanesco’s ge Scada applications and the second will oversee the distribution management system, which monitors and controls the entire distribution network.

Eyevis UK, which has two demonstration suites in Stockport and Euston, was formed seven years ago by Mr Murphy, a former St Theodore’s High School pupil and an avid Clarets fan, who previously served a five year technical apprenticeship with Michelin.

The company, based in Halifax Road, employs 12 people and provides video display and audio visual solutions to a range of clients and sectors across the world. Last year, it helped keep visitors and competitors at the Commonwealth Games safe after installing a one million pounds video wall system in Glasgow’s new CCTV control centre.
