Tele-firm donates desks to eight schools in Kagera

The initiative, dubbed ‘a desk for every student is the foundation of quality education,' expects to benefit 18 regions. Tigo Lake Territory Manager, Mr Edgar Mapande, said that there was a dire need of desks in primary schools and the initiative tries to assist bridge the gap.

The handover ceremony was held at Katoro Primary School, in Misenyi District, in Kagera.

The handover was witnessed by Bukoba Rural District Commissioner (DC), Mr Deodatus Kinawiro who represented Kagera Regional Commissioner (RC), Major General (Rtd) Salum Mustafa Kijuu.

Mr Kinawiro said the 235 desks will greatly improve the learning environment for children in the region.
