Samsung introduces two stickers as counterfeit security strategy

Samsung Electronic Tanzania has introduced two stickers as a counterfeit recognition security features. Along with this strategy the Consumer Electronics giant has officially launched a campaign dubbed as ‘Nunua Sajili Na Ushinde’; which is meant to reward customers for purchasing genuine Samsung products. . A one month campaign planned to commence 16th of June across all region in Tanzania is expected to award millions of Tanzanians with valuable Samsung home appliances such as Televisions, refrigerators and air conditions. 

“Considering that counterfeit products pose threat to consumers' health and safely; the lifestyle of consumers is changing fast and their expectation for quality products and service is highly increasing. As a global leader in Electronics, Samsung has continuously been making efforts to meet the needs and demands of its customers globally and in Tanzania as well. Samsung Tanzania firmly believe that ‘Nunua Sajili Na Ushinde’ campaign will improve the quality of consumer experience in Dar es Salaam and regions as well, said the Samsung Product Manager, Mr Elias Mushi during the launch.

Commenting on the new strategy, Mr Mushi said 'We have added in some security features recognition of two stickers which will assist the citizens to identify counterfeit products. Going forward all Samsung authorised consumer electronics products   will incorporate two stickers, i.e. authorised distributer warranty sticker and Samsung original product Sticker. ‘Nunua Sajili Na Ushinde’ campaign will act as a platform of carrying out education to public on the security features so that consumers can access adequate information to enable them to make informed choices according to their needs.   

As part of the campaign Samsung will be running a lottery where by lucky winners will be awarded every day for one month. Samsung customers can benefit from this scheme by simply registering their products over the phone soon after purchase. This is done by sending the Serial number to 0798222333. Customer will instantly receive a message confirming that the product is authorised by Samsung. In doing so Customers will automatically be registered for a lucky draw standing a chance to win various Samsung genuine product which offers after-sales services to customers including assistance from specialized technicians to individuals who qualify under Samsung’s 12 month warranty scheme.

To celebrate the launch of ‘Nunua Sajili Na Ushinde’ campaign and in order to reach out and spread the two stickers strategy to Tanzania residents the Electronic giants is running an activations in Dar es Salaam and in regions. 

On the same press conference held at Samsung headquarter in Dar es Salaam, the leading manufacturer of electronic devices has also announced an exciting new partnership with the highly regarded and well renowned distributor in Tanzania Pyramid Consumers Ltd. The agreement involves the distribution of Samsung latest and highly innovative, consumer electronics products. The deal brings the two companies to ease the accessibility of authorised electronic devices in Tanzania. 

Samsung latest devices to be distributed by Pyramid Consumers Ltd ranges from TV, , fridge, Air condition, microwave, washing machine, etc. These devices are incorporated with a selectively distinguishing feature within each model.
