Dar launches Samsung Galaxy S5

THERE was sellout of over 100 handsets of the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S5 in one of the outlets as Tanzania joined over 120 other countries to unveil the firm’s new product.

A shop attendant told 'Daily News' that 180 pieces were in store for the launch and that by yesterday afternoon between 140 and 150 has already been bought and that orders were mounting.

“The requests for the new phone are overwhelming. When the Galaxy S4 was launched last year the shop was abuzz but all signs show that these coming two weeks will be extremely busy,” he said.

The new Samsung smartphone is being sold at 1,350,000/- per piece while the Galaxy S4 was going at 1,200,000/- when it was launched.

Speaking at the event over the weekend, the Mobile and IT Division Country Manager for Samsung Electronics Tanzania, Mr Kishor Kumar, said that with the Galaxy S5, Samsung is going beyond their expectation and focus on delivering innovative products that have a direct impact on the lifestyles of their customers.

“Consumers are looking for mobile tools that inspire and support them as they improve their everyday lives.

The Galaxy S5 represents an iconic design with essential and useful features that focus on delivering the ultimate smart phone in the market today through people inspired innovation,” he said.

Mr Kumar explained that the Galaxy S5 phone has improved built in quality; more refined user experience, added biometrics security features and improved camera quality.
