Processing Manager

The Processing Manager is responsible for the management of the sawn timber production (sawmill) as well as further processing through kiln drying and production of value added products (decking, flooring, panels, doors, etc.). The Processing Manager will optimize operational costs, productivity and yield in the timber processing plants. Responsibilities: • Directing Production Staff Activities by managing approximately 125 members of staff in the Processing Plants as well as a team of supervisors. • Control productivity targets, yield indicators and progress against orders. • Manage and control transport to the loading site as well as container loading from the loading site for destination Dar es Salaam Port. • Managing and overseeing Physical Production Budgets. • Identifying and rectifying operational problems within the production units. • Setting housekeeping and maintenance schedules for the production units. • Liaise with the Engineering Department and advise on Maintenance Requirements. • Manage consumables stock and ensure timely orders of sawmill specific consumables (i.e. sawblades, sharpening tools, etc…) • The Processing Manager will report to the Operations Manager of KVTC APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: If you meet the requirements of the position above, please submit your application letter, CV and copies of references and certificates to: The General Manager Kilombero Valley Teak Company P.O.
