The Tanzania Girl Guides Association ( TGGA) is a volunteer member association of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scout (WAGGGS). Its mission is to empower girls and young women to be self- assured and resourceful citizens. Through informal education program Tanzania Girl Guides Association works mostly with young women, primary and secondary schools teachers plus students. The TGGA seeks to employ team players to fill in vacant positions which exist in the organization. They are expected to perform their duties with the highest integrity, diligence, and professionalism. Position Title: NATIONAL SECRETARY Terms of Employment: Three year contract (renewable, subject to satisfactory performance ) with a probation period of six months. Attractive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate. Nature and Scope The successful candidate will be reporting to the National Executive Board (NEB) Key Responsibilities • To manage the headquarters staff, assets and day to day activities; • To report and implement decisions as may be directed by the Chief Commissioner / the Chairperson of National Executive Board; • To make preparation for NEBM ( National Executive Board Meeting), Board of Trustees Meeting, Annual General Meeting and submit the agenda and papers for discussions at all meeting;. • To record all business proceedings of the TGGA; • To keep records of AGM, NEB and Committees meetings; • To be responsible in dealing with official correspondence pertaining to the NEB, AGM and the Committees. • To assist the NEB, AGM and the Committees in the fulfillment of their duties and provide services, as found necessary, regarding co-ordination of their work and implementation of their decisions. • To collect information regarding the registered Guide Units in all regions for the use as may be required. • To disseminate information and publications, which publicizes the work of TGGA. • To maintain relationship with other organisations whose aims are similar to those of TGGA. • To execute such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the NEB. • To nominate dates of Board of Trustees and the NEB meetings. Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience Essential. • Masters degree in Management (such as MBA, MPA, MPM etc ) from a recognized University/ Institution; • Highest degree of integrity, excellent and well developed organizational skills; • Minimum of 5 years experience in of which 3yrs must have been in senior position in related functions from a reputable institution. • Must have of at least 3 years of guiding experience.
