IP Network Design Engineer

Objectives: Plan, design and develop/rollout IP network strategy as relates to core, transport and access networks for both mobile and fixed technologies. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the High level design (HLD) of the IP Network (IP backhaul, IP core, Data centers, Firewalls etc…) • Prepare the Planned configurations (Low Level Designs) of IP network ready to be implemented. • Plan and monitoring of assignment/allocation and upkeep of updated records of IP resources including ensuring that the network is current as relates to IP technology developments. • Responsible for setting IP network KPIs, network performance and optimization as well as IP resources lifecycle management. • Prepare and deliver quality IP network WA, BoQ and RFQs. Ensure the proper network acceptance (PAT) of the IP network elements in line with the design. • Monitor the IP network load/Performance and take action to ensure optimum performance of the same. Plan and design IP network for realization of efficiency and resilience at Core, metro and access network levels in order to meet market and service requirements. • Review technology and service trends in the telecommunications field as relates to IP network and recommends on areas of improvement. • Collect and analyze IP network statistics against set KPIs and best practice so as to identify areas of improvement. • Update the IP network data build documentation and keeps the overall High level and low level design and network topology documentation up to date • Follow up on changes implemented on IP network and ensure that impact assessment is done on changes made by testing and observation. • Responsible for the capacity planning of the IP network elements. This includes actively reporting on the utilization of the network elements
