Radio Planning and Optimization Engineer

Objectives: Responsible for analyzing the performance of the radio network with the purpose to identify and implement network design changes (Hardware and Software) with the aim to improve the network performance and meet the set KPIs Key Responsibilities: Translate the high level marketing requirements into the Mobile access Network Master plan which will include the initial plan in terms of number site locations and the priority of those sites according to the requirements. • Prepare planned radio network parameters (neighbours, frequencies, Codes, LAC/RAC/TAC etc) for new radio nodes ready for implementation. • Perform and manage regular end to end network optimization. Perform acceptance of the built Radio network making sure that the coverage objectives have been met. • Conducts Technical Site Surveys for RAN as per agreed schedule & lead all acceptance testing processes of the RAN network in liaison with Network Deployment and Operations departments. • Review technology and service trends in the telecommunications field and recommends on areas of improvement. • He/she takes full ownership of delivery of the RAN network engineering guidelines. • Prepare quality detailed technical specifications, bill of quantities, tender documents to ensure efficient procurement of planned RAN network equipments • Advice and recommend on issues related to Spectrum Acquisition in meeting the currently demands and future mobile broadband technology demands.eg. GSM,CDMA,UMTS, WiFi and LTE etc. • Data build per site (i.e. planned configurations/ LLD) for ready to implement radio solutions for the new planned sites, modernization and expansions projects. • Decrease Radio network costs while achieving quality and budget targets • Provide pre-sales support to the business sales department in the prospective customer acquisition process. • Optimization of new radio network (i.e. site acceptance) within agreed SLA’s with other departments • Achieve set Radio Access Network performance targets. • Perform proactive optimization campaigns (tilt campaigns, neighboring, etc…) • Participate with expertise in radio network related trials and projects. • To manage the optimization plan works (Change management process) with Operations. • Create and manage the HW & SW roadmap for the Radio Access network elements • Responsible for the capacity planning of the Radio access network elements. This includes actively reporting on the utilization of the network elements
