Director of Coffee Development and Operations

Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Chief advisor to the Director General on all matters related to coffee development plans and other related duties in the field. - Initiates development plans for the industry country wide. - Ensures the rules an d regulations governing the licence of buying parchment coffee and dry cherry are strictly adhered to. - Coordinates the entire process of coffee procurement in all coffee growing districts. - Prepares departmental budget and controls expenditure in the depart ment in line with approved budget. - Receives and technically analyzes all applications concerning licences to buy parchment coffee and red cherry after consultation with respective district and regional authorities. - Liaise with agricultural technical adviso rs, DALDO`s and DSMS to establish forecast of annual crop expected and advise the management and the ministry of agriculture accordingly to enable plans to be made processing and marketing of the same. - Enforces the quality standards for preparations, stora ge and primary marketing and advice and institutes sanctions where necessary. - Acts as a coordinator during preparations agricultural shows and exhibitions organized within the country. - Carries out inspections and approval of processing plants before they a re given curing licence. - Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Director General.
