Main functions and duties: Visibility of external aid actions: • Act as the Focal Point for aid related communication and visibility matters, linking in particular the reporting on Results and visibility related initiatives. • Facilitate the monitoring of communication plans designed by EU funded projects/programmes. • Assist with the dissemination of instructions pertaining to visibility. • Coordinate the updating of project/programme information on the EUD website. • Contribute to the production of publications or any written material, including speechwriting and preparation of press releases. • Coordinate the visibility related aspects of EUD staff field visits as well as missions from the EU headquarters. • Provide inputs to the annual visibility action plan of the Delegation in coordination with the NAO and the RAO (EAC). • Assist with the preparation, implementation and follow-up of the EUD's visibility events, as part of an agenda to promote the EU's cooperation agenda with Tanzania and the EAC. This may include contract management of TCF visibility funds as Programme Officer (from tendering, contracting, and monitoring of said assignments) as well as the organisation of conferences, exhibitions, etc. • Further develop and maintain, with the Press and Information Officer, a network of media correspondents interested in development related issues Job requirements: Formal education: - University degree or equivalent. Experience - Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in development cooperation related activities, with a focus on aid effectiveness and/or visibility. - Experience with the management of projects and budgets will be an advantage. - Experience with monitoring and evaluation. - Previous work experience within an internation al donor agency will be an advantage - Familiarity and interaction with the press and media environment Knowledge - Understanding of the different Project Cycle Management steps. - Knowledge of EU cooperation policies and the related regulatory framework will be an advantage. Languages -Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written. -Knowledge of Kiswahili an asset. Skills: - Computer literate. Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS project or other planning tools an advantage - Capacity to communicate clearly, presenting complex matters in an understandable manner, both orally and in written form. - Capacity to focus on priorities and to deliver duties timely. - Good organisational skills -High sense of responsibility - Ability to work in an international context and adhere to international quality standards. - Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
